Pear and Almond Salad

A fresh wonderful salad perfect for fueling up before a workout.

  • 1 handful of red leaf lettuce
  • 1 handful of red leaf lettuce
  • 1 pear (or apple) sliced
  • 1 tbsp crumbled feta
  • 1 tbsp chopped & roasted almonds

Mix lettuce in a bowl. Evenly distribute pear, feta, and almonds on the top of the salad. As you dish out the salad the toppings will settle through the leaves.

In every salad I like to have:

  • leafy greens
  • a fruit
  • a healthy fat like cheese or a homemade dressing made from yogurt or olive oil
  • and some type of roasted nut

Remember, the leafy greens are your catalyst for burning fat. In this recipe, the leafy greens work with the cheese (healthy fat) to get that fat burning going. Mix this with a good cardio workout and your body will be feeling great! Do this everyday, and you might just see that scale change for the better. The pears at the store smelled SO GOOD, so they went into this salad. I happened to have feta cheese in the fridge and thought that might be a great addition. All of these beautiful ingredients together made for an absolutely delicious salad.
