Yogurt and Oats

A fresh wonderful salad perfect for fueling up before a workout.

  • 1/2 c. Quality Plain Yogurt
  • 3/4 c. Raw Oats
  • 1/2 c. Applesauce
  • 1/2 c. Blueberries
  • 1/2 c. Raisins

Mix yogurt, oats, and applesause in a bowl. You can mix lightly or thoroughly to your liking. Add blueberries and raisins. Enjoy. If you want a little more sweetness, add a little honey.

Oats and fruit are both relatively simple carbohydrates. Your body will be able to grab quick energy from them and also burn them fairly quickly. These 2 ingredients are great for getting ready for a cardio workout. The amount of yogurt in this recipe is on the high side. If you’re really wanting to focus on burning fat, decrease the yogurt by at least half. If you’d like to do a cardio workout after eating this, it’s best to have no more than 2 Tbsp of yogurt in this meal. While the yogurt makes it tasty, it will also make you feel slower during your cardio workout.
